Happy Blog Birthday to Me!
Yes, Albion Cooks is two years old!
I can't believe how much I've learned writing Albion Cooks, how much fun I've had, and how much better I eat now! And one of my favorite things about food and cooking is that there's always something new to learn and discover.
Thanks to my readers for all their encouragement!
So, by way of celebration, here are some of my favorite dishes from the last two years:
Lentil-stuffed Roast Potatoes with Spinach & Feta
Red Lentil & Rice Patties with Cilantro Sauce
Red Lentil Soup
Dinosaur Kale & Jalapeno Soup
Lentils on Garlic Toast with Greens, Beets, and Goat Cheese
Vegetarian Cornish Pasties
Fig & Humboldt Fog Pizza
Green Cauliflower & Olive Capellini
Heirloom Tomato & Golden Beet Salad with Arugula Pesto
Chanterelle,"Bacon" & Stilton Pizza
A Simple Cheese & Tomato Sandwich
Nachos Pizza
Orange Star
I'd love to hear about your favorite Albion Cooks recipe in the comments!
And happy vegetarian blog birthdays to What the hell does a vegan eat anyway?, who recently celebrated birthday #6.
And happy first blog birthday to A Few Reservations!

Happy birthday, and what a fun idea to show some of your favorite dishes!
Happy Blogday. I remember so many of these recipes. Thanks for a delicious roundup.
Congratulations Catherine!
I'm consistently blown away by your wonderful photography. I want to taste everything you take a picture of, even if some ingredients are things that I don't typically like. You make it all look sumptuous and delectable. Can I come over tomorrow and eat some? :o)
Love, Heidi (your sister in law)
Happy Blog Birthday to my favourite vegetarian-Brit-living-in-Marin! Here's to many more! Just as well I turned down your offer of meeting last night.. My cold went from bad to worse and I ended up staying at home (again) today. Will I ever get better? Why aren't the lemsips working? Do you think I should leave out the amaretto?
Kalyn, cookie and Heidi - many thanks for your birthday wishes and kind words.
Sam - it's the cold bug from hell. Although I haven't tried the hot toddy, I've tried everything else and have to report I've had cold symptoms since before Xmas. I've done Airborne, Emergency C, been awfully good, but still it lingers. Gosh, I even had lung pain for the first time in my life with this darned bug (after running, but heck!) Some days I feel congested, but otherwise fine, other days I'm depleted and on the sofa. And, getting soaked to the bone everytime I go outside really isn't helping. If you can, stay in bed. If it makes you feel any better, I know many people experiencing the same thing. It's not you, it's the longlasting bug from hell. If you like the amaretto, I'd run with it. Get well!
Happy Birthday to Albion Cooks! and congratulations to you, a fellow Marinite. Your blog is eye candy, and inspiring to one going mostly veggie ovo/lacto type.
Happy blogiversary! You were one of the first to leave a comment on my blog when I first started, and I'm so grateful for your support and encouragement. Here's to another year of wonderful vegetarian recipes on Albion Cooks!
Congratulations Catherine,
Happy Anniversary. Your blog is proof indeed that we can all learn from our children! I enjoy your ideas.
Love Mum
Here's raising a glass to you and the next 12 months. Favourite has to be Portabello mushrooms and Stilton (December)
Happy blogday to you, and to many more to come, with scrumptious food.
Happy Birthday and congratulations! I loved seeing the photos--so many of them I remembered. Thanks and here's to many more inspiring recipes!
PS. I've got the same dreadfull, won't-die-a-natural-death cold as well, awful. Also, I LOVED your comment of Catherine's "Stain" post--so very true!--thanks for sharing.
Anna - I love your Marin reviews. You must have found every local place by now.
Lydia - likewise! I think you are my most regular commenter and it really means a lot to me to get those!
Mum - thanks. I am beaming like a schoolgirl.
Threadspider - I almost included that one, but gave it so much traffic in December. It is a fav of mine too. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful Bea- I thank you. Your photos are always an inspiration.
Tea - I hope you feel better soon. I'm now trying Zicam - a homepathic oral mist. I'll let you know. And, LOL, that's the first time I've been praised for a comment I left on someone else's blog. It was just such an awesome piece! I could just totally relate. Thanks for your kind words.
Happy Birthday Catherine! Especially loved the lentils on toast and the cornish pasties, yum! Roll on the next year, hope it is a good one for you!
Happy (belated) Blog Birthday, Catherine! Even though I don't often comment, I read all of your posts and drool over both your recipes and your photos. Here's to many more years of Albion Cooks! :)
Happy blog birthday to you, as well! Your photos and recipes always make me hungry-- such an inspiration!
