Heirloom Tomato Salad
I'm a big believer that the simpler the food, the better.
At this time of year, it's hard to beat a simple salad made from beautiful heirloom tomatoes, red onions, mozzarella, basil and olives. Just add olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper, and pour yourself a large glass of red wine.
Happy summer!

Ohhh this looks good! I love heirloom tomatoes too!
I love this! And I am with you - the simpler the better. My mom and I laughed at ourselves on vacation when, after all the fancy meals & desserts, the one we remember best is the pizza and wine! Silly girls we are!
Salad looks so yummy! I am in Ohio right now and the tomatoes are just ripening and will be at the Farmers Market on Sat. where I plan to load up! And a nice piece of bread and a glass of wine will make this salad a lovely lunch! I probably will pair mine with a crisp, lively, Sauvignon Blanc.
Cheers!
My tomatoes are just coming in, so this type of salad is nearly always on the menu come mid July. I think a big plate of this, plus the jumbo glass of red wine you mentioned, would be all I would need for supper. Alas...I have others to feed, and a tomato salad just would not fill them up!
I love this tomatos and looks so good.

I couldn't agree more..looks delicious!!
You're so right. When food is at its freshest and most flavorful, it doesn't need a lot of dressing up. That's a lovely, colorful salad.
